Hewison Foundation Golf Day 2023

Hewison Private Wealth
3 May 2023

Last Friday, 28th April 2023, we teed off with our annual Hewison Foundation Golf Day at Woodlands Golf Club. The Hewison Foundation strives to help eliminate disadvantage in Australian society through the provision of grants and charitable donations to organisations that focus on increasing financial literacy. As such, the golf day is an important event in the Hewison calendar, and one which the team looks forward to each year with great enthusiasm.

We are proud to announce that this year marked another successful day of fun and fundraising allowing the Hewison Foundation to raise $19,721 for disadvantaged communities. This would not have been possible if it were not for the tremendous support of our sponsors and generous golfers. Thank you.

An 8am shotgun start kicked off the 18-hole gentsomes with friendly competition aplenty amongst the teams. While the weather forecast sparked concerns, the morning provided perfect conditions with sunshine and blue skies for the golfers. With impressive prizes up for grabs, skills were put to the test. Luckily, professional golfer, Nick O’Hern was camped out on the 11th hole where golfers could lean into his talents and use one of his shots as their own.

Players also got to enjoy some oncourse activations including nearest the pin and the longest drive. While it’s clear that the talents of the Hewison team lie in driving investment strategies, rather than driving golf balls, fun and fundraising was the focus for the day which was definitely achieved.

After a full morning of golf, players enjoyed a well-earned drink and buffet style lunch while Nick O’Hern shared stories from his incredible career and valuable tricks he uses to perform at his best when the pressure is seemingly overwhelming. He emphasised the importance of mindset and attributed his professional success not to his natural talent, but rather his ability to remain focused on his technique and the process of his game during times of immense pressure. Chris Morcom, Partner and Wealth Adviser, followed with his address to the group and finally the long-awaited announcement of raffle and golf prizes. Congratulations to the winners of the day:
