The Hewison Foundation was established in 2015 by the directors of Hewison Private Wealth, with the purpose of helping to break the cycle of disadvantage and improve the lives of others. The Hewison Foundation continues to expand their philanthropic efforts through the provision of grants and charitable donations to an array of charities and not for profit organisations.

MS Plus is a charity close to the hearts of some members of the Hewison team, who have had personal experience with loved ones battling and succumbing to Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Founded in 1956, MS Plus is the leading provider of support services for people with MS in VIC, NSW, ACT and TAS. MS is a disabling and devastating disease caused by damage to the nerves of the brain and spinal cord. MS Plus’ point of difference lies in their uniquely comprehensive set of support services, which ensure that people with MS can live well and achieve their goals, despite the challenges of the disease.

Earlier this month, Hewison Foundation Director, Chris Morcom, along with Nathan Lear and Creina Lister from Hewison Private Wealth proudly donated $12,000 to Jesse King from the MS Plus Wellbeing Initiative. When asked what impact this donation would have Jesse King said “At MS Plus, we are privileged to help thousands of people live with maximum wellbeing, and achieve their goals, despite the challenges of MS. However, this life-changing impact doesn’t just happen. As a not-for-profit, we need support from the community to continue our work. We are so grateful to Chris and the whole team at Hewison Private Wealth, for this generosity, which is so closely aligned with Hewison’s commitment to tangible purpose through their work. On behalf of our clients and their loved ones, thank you for the work you do in the community.”

This initiative recognises and supports the crucial impact that education plays in the specific, practical areas of life impacted by MS, that are essential beyond the clinic. This is imperative to ensuring that people with MS live with maximum independence and are empowered with optimum physical and emotional wellbeing, to live healthy, independent and connected lives.
